I’m Martin Olson, photographer and filmmaker rooted in Åre, Sweden. Throughout my journey in the industry, I've been privileged to delve into the expansive realms of outdoor, action sports and adventure storytelling.
My venture began in graphic arts engineering, leading me into the worlds of print production, creative retouching, layout, and graphic design. While yearning for a closer connection to nature, I attained a certification in wilderness and adventure guiding, leading me into a tenure in the outdoor industry and ignited a passion to wield a camera. Over the years, this path has kept evolving and sculpted me into a seasoned photographer and filmmaker, working with both documentary and commercial assignments.
Noteworthy moments in my career include filming and photographing the traversing of Sweden's entire mountain range, capturing the groundbreaking winter summit of all the Swedish 2000-meter peaks in a single push, and documenting an expedition of retracing the footsteps of Nordenskiöld on Svalbard.
I specialize in physically demanding productions and find joy in the rugged and challenging environments, all while being drawn to projects that aspire to tell extraordinary stories and strengthen our connection to the natural world.
”Martin was extremely easy to work with, both in understanding what we as brand wanted to achieve with the photoshoot but also taking own initiatives and finding angles which we might have missed without his active engagement during the shoot. Highly recommended!”
